QUESTIONS

Jeszcze przed jakimkolwiek nawiązaniem kontaktu z obecną host rodzinką we Włoszech i potencjalną rodzinką w Ameryce, zadałam sobie pytanie dlaczego chce się być au pair. Przeglądając fora internetowe, różnego rodzaju blogi można natrafić na różne typy osobowości, tym samym różne historie i motywy "why to be an au-pair". To nie jest po prostu odbębnienie przysłowiowych kilku godzin z dzieciakami, a potem hulaj duszo. Au pair to praca na pełen etat. To naprawdę cała masa obowiązków, a dopiero potem jest czas na małe szaleństwa :-) 
Hej, ale nie jestem tutaj od prawienia morałów, czy oświecania kogokolwiek! Przygotowałam tę zakładkę w celu zgromadzenia pytań, które można zadać host rodzince. W dodatku, ilustrują one jak wiele au pair ma na głowie i o ile sprawach trzeba pamiętać.
Przejrzałam liczne strony (głównie zagraniczne) w celu znalezienia TOP pytań do rodzinki. Opinie różne. Jednak, wspólna cecha - najważniejsze są dzieci i to o nie trzeba się pytać w pierwszej kolejności. Takie oczywiste? Napotkałam na wiele historii, gdzie potencjalna au pair zadaje pytania tylko o swoje własne benefity. Pozwólcie, że zacytuję:

"I’ll never forget when we were interviewing candidates for our 2nd au pair, and our 1st, who was helping me by interviewing the candidates who made my first “cut” – gave me a firm “no way” on one candidate. Her concern was that this potential au pair only asked our current au pair about friends, parties, the nightlife, etc. – not a single question about working with our kids.

So yes – asking about our kids is a top question."

Dlatego prezentuję listę pytań, które udało mi się zgromadzić. Macie propozycje, uwagi i przede wszystkim - pytania? Proszę piszcie w komentarzach, może komuś się przyda :-) Oczywiście pytań możliwych do zadania host rodzince jest miliard pińset sto dziewięćset. Wypisuję te z naciskiem na sprawy, które mnie gdzieś tam interesowały, więc lista NIE jest absolutnie kompletna.
Dopisujcie - będzie mi bardzo miło :-)

1) Children
- Can you tell me something about the child's personality? (jeżeli jest więcej niż jedno dzieciątko, to warto zapytać się o różnice w charakterach)
- What do they like doing in the free time? Favourite sports? 
- Are there any cartoons/books that they especially like? 
- Do the children watch TV/ play computer games on a daily basis?
- What kind of food do the children like? Do they eat lunch that is served at school? Are they allowed to drink soda?
- Type of school they attend: Kindergarten/Primary/Middle ...
- Do they learn languages? Any problems with homeworks?
- How far is the school? Any extra lessons?

2) Former/Present Au Pairs
- Relationships your children have had with the au pairs. Were there any problems? How to avoid them?
- Why the au pair worked out so well.
- Contact to the au pair.

3) Time spent with the children
- Going for a ride/walk with/without parents' permission?
- Visiting friends - should the parents be informed?
- Any play grounds, swimming pools nearby?

4) Animals
- Any pets? Do the animals require special treatment?

5) Accommodation
- Wifi? Any rules regarding using it?
- Household appliances besides washing machine and washing-up machine that I will need to use?
- Should I turn on/off the alarm in the house?

6) Facilities
- Library card - how to get it?
- Bus station
- Banks/ post office

7) Priorities (kwestia bardzo osobista :-) )
- Couchsurfing - have you ever heard about it? Are you OK with me using it during my days-off?
- College - types of classes?
